James Carpenter, Scout.com four-star junior college offensive tackle from Coffeyville, Kansas, committed Saturday night to Alabama.
"That is the place for me. I can start over there next year and take Andre Smith's spot, and I want to win," said James Carpenter. "They have coach Saban, and they have Coach Petry, and I feel like he can make me the best offensive lineman I can possibly be."
Carpenter sent a text to the Alabama coaches after the game to inform them of his decision. He will graduate in December and enroll at Alabama in January.
