Percy Harvin still questionable for SEC Championship Game

University of Florida wide receiver Percy Harvin, a big-play threat as both a receiver and a runner and one of the the top offensive players in the Southeastern Conference, is doubtful for Saturday's SEC Championship Game against Alabama.

Floridia head coach Urban Meyer said Sunday that Harvin "won't practice the next couple of days" but hasn't been ruled out for the game.

"He’s questionable for this game," Meyer said on a teleconference. " It’s going to be a day to day. He certainly won’t practice the next couple of days, but he’s here today and he’s moving around a little bit."

No. 2 Florida (11-1) will face No. 1 Alabama (12-0) on Saturday in Atlanta's Georgia Dome for the SEC title. The winner is expected to advance to the BCS Championship Game to play for the national title.

Harvin, who leads the Gators with 35 catches for 595 yards with seven touchdowns, sprained his right ankle in Florida's weekend victory over Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. Harvin also has 538 rushing yards on 61 attempts with nine touchdowns.

The injury occured on a 5-yard run in the second quarter. Harvin needed help from trainers to limp off the field and did not return to the game. After the game, Harvin left the locker room with a boot on his right foot, and on crutches.

Harvin has scored a touchdown in 14 straight games, which leads the nation.

Florida is ranked No. 2 in the latest Associated Press Top 25, with Alabama ranked No. 1. This will mark the first time that the two top-ranked teams have played in the SEC Championship Game.
